The History— The Example

The Rolex GMT-Master is one of the most iconic watches ever made, originally developed in the 1950s for airline pilots to track multiple time zones during long-haul flights. Its blue and red “Pepsi” bezel quickly became synonymous with international travel, offering a clear day/night distinction at a glance.

The reference 16710 GMT-Master II is  widely regarded as one of the best executions of the model, perfectly balancing vintage proportions with modern practicality. Powered by the Rolex calibre 3185, it features an independently adjustable hour hand, allowing the wearer to track a second time zone with ease while maintaining accurate home time – a genuinely useful function for travel.
